Google teamed up with OTX to look at how digital media is helping patients make healthcare choices. This study found:

  • In 2009, trust in online health care resources had gone up 44% from several years prior
  • 86% of patients who used the Internet to research healthcare choices used Google as part of the process
  • 75% of patients research symptoms online before talking to a doctor
