    Cloud Innovations for Media Management
Eric Brewer, VP of Infrastructure at Google

The media industry is at an inflection point with the data being created and distributed by the industry exploding. On one hand, increasing global smartphone penetration has enabled premium content to be consumed on mobile devices. TV is now everywhere! At the same time, traditional home entertainment is at very different level from what it was a few years ago. Increasing resolutions, high dynamic range content, on-demand episodes of original series, and online streaming of live sporting events have all changed the paradigm of home television. This data explosion has bombarded everyone in the industry with tremendous challenges in infrastructure costs, content security, and collaboration—whether it's a broadcaster, production studio, post-house, or an OTT provider.

Eric Brewer, VP of Infrastructure, will share his insights on ways these important challenges are addressed in the world of distributed computing. He will discuss how public cloud platforms have been solving for the scale and performance needs of the media industry. He will also highlight the recent innovations that have enabled the artists and studios to accomplish some truly amazing things.
