The Story

Digital-savvy Italian soccer club AS Roma developed an untrodden way to bring fans one kick closer to the players they admire. Prior to taking the field against Juventus, each player took a "shoeselfie," which the club shared on its Google+ page.

Rotating selfie pic technology from Google was used to take 360-degree images of the players' cleats, a twist on the traditional selfie. The shoeselfies were then turned into GIFs and shared on the club's G+ page and inside the stadium. AS Roma worked with innovation studio Deeplocal to create and promote this digital experience.
