The Story

We had a big challenge in front of us: to get the most out of Audi sponsoring two of the best football teams in the world, Real Madrid and FC Barcelona.

We took advantage of the match between the two football teams to do a video which got millions of their followers moving. It was a duel between two Audi A1s, which left their skidmarks forming an image on the ground that symbolized two passions: love of football and love of the car. We launched this video across multiple digital platforms on the previous days to this big game, dubbed 'El Clasico'. We also created a print ad in the run-up to big match, which drove more viewers online to see the video.

The Results

The viral video was one of the most watched in internet in the week before the classic match. It had over 850,000 visits and was reuploaded by various users. The online press and several TV channels converted the action into news. We achieved millions of euros in free publicity and in the days before the match we increased brand awareness by 200%.
