We wanted to bring to life the idea that with Denon's lifestyle-specific headphones, you don't just hear the music, you feel it. To deliver an engaging experience to younger people unaware of Denon's 100 year heritage of superior audio quality, and in lieu of a traditional media budget, we needed to take advantage of social media. We created the Denon VisYOUalizer as an app that allows people to upload a photo of their face, try on the headphones virtually and transform their faces into visualisations of the music they're playing. It allows them to feel the music like never before.

The Story

We wanted to bring to life the idea that with Denon's lifestyle-specific headphones, you don't just hear the music, you feel it. To deliver an engaging experience to younger people unaware of Denon's 100 year heritage of superior audio quality, and in lieu of a traditional media budget, we needed to take advantage of social media. We created the Denon VisYOUalizer as an app that allows people to upload a photo of their face, try on the headphones virtually and transform their faces into visualisations of the music they're playing. It allows them to feel the music like never before.

To transform someone into a living, breathing, 3D music equalizer. we knew we had to capture a person’s face in a way that had never been done before. To capture color, depth and motion at the same time, we did many tests with Asylum artists, Jam 3 and the motion-sensing technology kinect.
