Americans love to eat out. And when they do, more and more are taking photos of their meals. That adds up to millions of photos being shared all over the web. We leveraged that passion and created Feedie - a platform that transforms food photos into donations to The Lunchbox Fund, a non-profit that provides daily meals to schoolchildren in South Africa. So now when you share food photos, you share food.

The Story

Americans love to eat out. And when they do, more and more are taking photos of their meals. That adds up to millions of photos being shared all over the web. We leveraged that passion and created Feedie - a platform that transforms food photos into donations to The Lunchbox Fund, a non-profit that provides daily meals to schoolchildren in South Africa. So now when you share food photos, you share food.

Feedie brings together online social communities, geo-location technology, mobile photography and extends the goodness of food from one table to another. It transforms the act of sharing food photos into sharing actual food with hungry children.

The Technology

The Results

FEEDIE is a win-win-win for restaurants, food lovers and The Lunchbox Fund. Since it’s the restaurants that make the donation, they in turn get free social media advertising, repeat customers and tax breaks. Food lovers just have to do what they’ve always done — share their passion and discover new food — except now it helps others. And The Lunchbox Fund receives a steady stream of revenue to feed hungry children.
