The Story

The "Wieliczka" Salt Mine is perceived as a historical, traditional and a very stately place. But not everyone knows that the Mine also has another aspect - it is a place with plenty of amazing attractions. We decided to present the 700-year-old monument in a modern manner. The target group was youth - users of Internet and mobiles in everyday life. The Mine was to appear to the audience as a... magical place.

We created an app that allows people to embark on a unique, interactive journey through the Mine. The picturesque undergrounds are faithfully reproduced in 360° spherical panoramas, thanks to the Minko engine (Stage3D). It runs on web (Flash site) and on mobile devices (Android and iOS) using exactly the same code via the cross-platform runtime environment Adobe AIR. Everyone can now admire the unique beauty of salt chambers and uncover their incredible mystery.

You need just a click to feel the atmosphere of salt underworld. Over a month since its debut, there have been plenty of positive reviews in a number of influential and expert media outlets. The visibility of the brand "Wieliczka" Salt Mine in the news, blogs, marketing industry, interactive and tourism forums has increased significantly. And that's just the beginning!
